Photovoltaic array reconfiguration under partial shading conditions for maximum power extraction via knight's tour technique

Abstract This paper introduces a novel reconfiguration technique, called Knight's tour to extract maximum power from photovoltaic (PV) arrays in partial shading conditions. The reconfigures the PV based on movements chessboard. proposed procedure achieves values by spreading shadows all rows. can be applied variety of different dimensions and sizes. Accordingly, is four cases square rectangular shapes with various conditions each case. To make direct comparison present effectiveness suggested procedure, total-cross-tied connection model conventional methods such as SuDoKu, optimal improved Skyscraper puzzle are also implemented introduced cases. results point tracking case evaluated indicators global (GMPP), fill factor, mismatch loss, efficiency.
